What We Provide

The Friendly Harbor Community Center actively works to counter the effects of stigma by supporting recovery of its members, and speaking to and collaborating with family members and supporters of those with a mental condition, organizations such as Pueblo County Department of Social Services, Probation Department, Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo, Health Solutions mental health center, involved parties such as Pueblo County District Court judges and Pueblo County citizens at large, and others.

Support Groups

The following activities are designed to promote mental wellness as well as provide a means of stepping out of your comfort zone and enjoying yourself with those of like minds.

This group provides a supportive space for individuals to openly discuss their experiences with suicide and personal challenges in a non-clinical, community setting. Facilitators, who share their own experiences, create an environment of empathy and understanding. Emphasizing confidentiality and personal expression, the group operates on principles of voluntary participation, relationship-building, and harm reduction, avoiding clinical interventions and prioritizing a non-judgmental atmosphere.

A branch of a statewide effort to connect struggling parents to share tips and resources, focusing on protective factors and parental resilience.

  • Wednesdays, 5:00 PM at Friendly Harbor

Connect with others at the Friendly Harbor house through personal art projects. Bring your own supplies or reach out to us ahead of time, and we’ll provide them!

  • Thursdays, 1:00 PM at Friendly Harbor

In this check-in style group, we discuss our week, triggers, and coping methods. We discuss challenges unique to anxiety and depression as well as strategies to overcome or cope with symptoms.

  • Wednesdays, 2:00 PM at Friendly Harbor

Coping skill building and reinforcing group held at the Pueblo Rescue Mission. This group uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Wiseman philosophies to help people identify negative thinking patterns and pushes for positive behavioral changes.

Double Trouble Recovery: A place where you can get support for both mental health and addiction at the same time. It is a safe space to talk about struggles with these health issues, as many people deal with both at the same time.

Tune into your inner rhythm with our Music group on Saturdays. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or just a music enthusiast, this group offers a harmonious space to explore, share, and enjoy music in all its forms.

Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and engaged in the moment, aware of our thoughts and feelings without judgment. Our group centers on meditation, guiding participants through practices that cultivate mindfulness, enhancing self-awareness, and promoting mental clarity and emotional balance. Join us to explore mindfulness through meditation in a supportive, communal setting.

  • Wednesdays, 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Friendly Harbor

Weekly meetings, led by trained parent facilitators. In this group we will cover topics including the addiction cycle, delayed emotional growth, the role of family, enabling behaviors, recovery steps, recognizing relapse, setting realistic boundaries, and more.

A support group for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. With a focus on mental health and substance use recovery, we offer a safe space for sharing and growth. Emphasizing resilience and diversity, we empower members towards wellness and self-acceptance.

This group offers a safe, nurturing space to delve into the intricacies of maintaining relationships during recovery. Our focus is on fostering a supportive community for shared learning, personal growth, and open dialogue, helping each other thrive in our relational journeys.

Science-based addiction support group where we learn self-empowering skills and support each other in our recovery.

We have art supplies 

Our peer-led group examines cognitive distortions in film, such as “catastrophizing,” where characters expect the worst, mirroring real-life thought patterns. Through analyzing these moments, we gain insights into both cinematic narratives and our own thought processes. Join us for a unique journey into the world of film.

Join us in the kitchen at Friendly Harbor for a culinary journey, where we cook, learn, and share recipes in a fun and interactive environment.

This is a meeting for harbor staff, volunteers, and community members to share information and updates about Friendly Harbor. Partner organizations are encouraged to participate and share information as well!

In the warmer months, delve into the joys of gardening, cultivating not just plants but also friendships and a deeper connection to nature. As the weather turns cooler, the focus shifts to games, offering a cozy retreat for mental stimulation and social interaction. Whether you have a green thumb or a competitive streak, this group provides a perfect blend of outdoor connection and indoor fun.

Step into wellness with our Walking group. A simple yet profound activity, our walks offer both physical exercise and the opportunity to bond and engage with others in a relaxed setting.

Please feel free to visit our outdoor Labyrinth during daylight hours. We encourage you to use walking meditation to find insight into yourself; think about something positive and apply it to your life!
